Designing my product
Plain text & text stacks
Use the Text Tool to add plain text to your design, then get creative by adding outlines, and changing the text shape or colour.
Important: Do not use the Text Tool to add personalisation (custom names or numbers) to your design. Text entered with the Text Tool will be the printed across the entire order. To add personalisation, select ADD NAMES AND NUMBERS in the Design Lab. Find out more about Personalising for individuals.
How to add plain text
In the Design Lab, select DESIGNS then the area you want to add the text.
Select ADD PLAIN TEXT.
Enter your text in the white box labelled Type text here.
Use the options within the text menu to:
Change the colour.
Shape the text.
Change the font, font size, and alignment.
Adjust the text spacing.
Add outlines.
Adding Outlines
You can add up to 2 outlines to your text. However, we recommend different thicknesses depending on your font size. If we are unable to achieve your selected outlines, we will contact you during the design review process.
Outline requirements
24-56pt: No outlines are available as the text is too small.
60-68pt: Single outline is available - we recommend selecting medium thickness.
76+pt: Up to 2 outlines are available - select from any thickness.
Outline recommendations
For best results, we recommend the following:
For Outline 1, we recommended using a Thick high-contrast colour to stand out against your primary text colour.
For Outline 2, we recommend using the same Thickness as Outline 1 and the same colour as your primary text (or a slightly lighter or darker shade of your primary text).
Text stacks
Text stacks provide a simple method to achieve a uniquely layered/outline effect not available using plain text. This style is popular in traditional Varsity Jacket designs.
Text stacks support:
Up to 4 characters.
Diagonal, horizontal, and vertical orientations.
Numerous font options.
Outlines with dedicated outline styles to stack or merge (not available on plain text).
Letter spacing adjustment to perfect the look.
To access text stacks:
In the Design Lab, select DESIGNS then the area you want to add the text stack.
Select ADD TEXT STACK.
Configure as required.
Note: Some letters do not overlap naturally. As such, when there is no overlap, we recommend manually adjusting spacing for all or individual letters using the 'Spacing Adjustment' feature.
